Firestone Industrial Products Ride-Rite Kits

In both 2WD and 4WD models, Ride-Rite air helper spring kits for 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks and 2012 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks are available from Firestone Industrial Products Company. Firestone’s Ride-Rite kit uses air pressure to help maximize the truck’s load-carrying capacity, vehicle stability, ride quality and brake effectiveness, and reduce tire wear. A pair of Ride-Rite air springs can provide up to 5,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity. The system features individual inflation valves that allow for separate side-to-side or front-to-rear adjustment, which helps keep the vehicle level when carrying off-center loads and maintains ride quality under differing load conditions. The Ride-Rite kit is a no-drill system designed to use the truck’s factory holes and mount between its frame and suspension. Firestone includes all the components necessary for an easy installation that typically takes less than one hour, including the brackets, air springs, hardware, air lines and separate valves. Firestone also offers its Air-Rite air accessory system to complement the Ride-Rite kits, enabling drivers to make instant air pressure adjustments with the push of a button installed on the dashboard.

Terex-SCM

Terex SCM Series Hi-Ranger Aerial

The Terex HyPower Hybrid System is an available option on the new SCM48, SCM50 and SCM55 overcenter material-handling models added to the Hi-Ranger aerial device equipment lineup by Terex Utilities. The models feature the Terex lower boom cylinder design for low travel height and the patented Tri-Link elbow for easy maintenance. The lower boom cylinder design on the SCM series offers more open bed space and an overall height less than 11 feet on a 40-inch frame. The low profile of the SCM series allows for low platform stow near the centerline of the truck to provide exceptional clearance of overhead obstructions. All SCM models have a gross vehicle weight rating of 31,000 pounds. SCM Series models are standard with a side-mount, one-person, 700-pound capacity platform, as well as Control Plus “3-D” single-stick controls.

transcube-fuel-tanks

Transcube XT Fuel Tanks

The Transcube XT line of high-capacity diesel fuel tanks features tanks that are legally transportable while full, making them ideal for rapid fuel deployment to remote locations. Standard models in the line include the TCT100 and TCT200, which offer capacities of 2,450 gallons and 5,000 gallons, respectively. Also available is the TCT200CAB, a 4,500-gallon capacity tank that provides additional cabinet space for equipment and accessories.

Each Transcube model features a cylindrical inner tank and internal baffles to minimize fuel surges while the tank is in transit or being maneuvered on a job site. The inner tank is enclosed within an outer wall for secondary containment. Each tank is equipped with four feed and return connections to provide direct plumbing to engines, along with a fuel pump or auxiliary equipment feed. Each model also features a 2-inch fill pipe, including an overfill prevention valve for quick refilling. All ports, pumps, fittings and connections, and a content gauge, are centrally located in a weatherproof control cabinet, which is housed inside the secondary containment area and secured with a three-point locking system. An inspection manway on all models allows for simple maintenance, cleaning and inspection of the inner fuel tank and compartments. Additionally, each tank has forklift pockets on two sides to allow for simple handling and positioning.

Transcube XT tanks are offered with several pumps, fittings and other optional tools, including electric transfer pumps, supply and return connections, fuel hoses and quick couplers, hose reels, gauges and overfill alarms. Tanks and fittings can also be supplied with custom colors to match a user’s existing fleet of equipment.

Terex Hybrid Light Towers

New AL4L and AL5L LED plug-in rechargeable light towers have been added to the Terex hybrid lineup. The LED plug-in rechargeable light towers, which are operated silently and without fuel, provide up to 10 hours of run time with instant on/off operation and no heat-up or cooldown delays, and feature LED lights with a 50,000-hour bulb life. An optional 6 kW generator is available on the AL4L model. The AL5L has a standard 8 kW generator and is set up to charge three additional AL4L units in remote job site applications.

Terex hybrid offerings, which include the company’s HyPower hybrid system, also now feature Odyne plug-in hybrid propulsion systems for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Odyne’s plug-in hybrid systems are a turnkey hybrid solution for companies that utilize vehicles with driving cycles featuring a high percentage of starting and stopping, along with extended periods of job site idle time. Odyne’s modular system can be installed on a wide variety of new and existing vehicles, reducing fuel consumption and lowering emissions.

chelsea-890-series

Chelsea 890 Series PTO

The 890 Series Power Take-Off (PTO) for Allison 3000/4000 transmissions is mounted between the transmission and the frame rail of the truck. It mounts like a standard side-mounted PTO with an additional bracket at the rear of the transmission, and places the output of the PTO beyond the rear of the transmission where there is extra space. The 890 Series is a single unit, not a PTO with an extension. The main shaft is one piece, eliminating the input splines between the PTO and the shaft extension. The clutch has been moved to the rear of the unit to allow the housing and gear section to tuck in tightly to the transmission. The output utilizes a wet spline, which eliminates fretting problems.

onspot-tire-chains

ONSPOT Tire Chains

The ONSPOT Automatic Tire Chain System offers the traction of a single set of conventional snow chains without having to stop the vehicle. The cab-mounted electric switch provides 12 volts to an air solenoid on the vehicle’s frame rail. Compressed air to the solenoid is supplied from either the vehicle’s onboard air system or a 12-volt compressor. The solenoid opens when the dashboard switch is activated, allowing compressed air to enter the air cylinder and lower the chainwheel so it contacts the inside of the tire. The friction between the tire and the rubber-covered chainwheel causes the chainwheel to rotate, creating enough centrifugal force to flail the chains out. Six lengths of chain spaced at 60-degree intervals on the chainwheel ensure that there are two chains between the tire and road surface at all times, whether the vehicle is accelerating, braking or in a wheel lockup condition. When the dashboard switch is turned off, the solenoid exhausts the air provided to the chain units and return springs in the air cylinders, bringing the chainwheels back to their resting position.

The tire chain system is available from more than 200 OEMs and 1,400 dealers. ONSPOT, founded in 1977, manufactures its products in the company’s ISO 9001-certified factory in Indiana.
